I've gotten a bit further in "The Grand Sophy." What most strikes me about Miss Stanton-Lacy is her resemblance to the high-spirited heroines of old girls' books, complete with the requisite good-natured but effectively catatonic (at least for the purposes of thwarting Our Heroine) parent. She's just a few years older, and consequently has a more dashing wardrobe, more ready cash, and access to high society.
If the space-time continuum would cooperate, I think it would be a great idea for her to wind up in Jamaica in time for Retribution. She could take on Hammond.
