If you're going to write something ridiculous, it seems that you should go all-out. Some people like quirky, id-driven things (or at least consider them Narm Charm), and it will give the people who dislike your efforts something amusing to snark about. (And it seems that books with active Hatedoms tend to get them for perceived major issues like Richard Rahl's moral dissonance or Edward and Bella's relationship dynamics, not evil chickens or sparkles as such.)
