I actually like the tektek.org chibi avatar maker better than the Candybar page in some ways for making character designs. There aren't quite so many options, unfortunately, but there's more stuff suitable for characters who aren't late 20th-early 21st century young people, and I really appreciate the wider variety of skin colors.
I did this first one a while ago. I was planning on making the whole band, but I had trouble finding appropriate hair for Billy and sort of burned out on the idea.
( Ladies and gentlemen, Joe Dick )The next two are of Peaches Delgado, the character I'll probably be playing in an upcoming d20-based Firefly campaign. Her basic concept is "Jayne as played by RuPaul," but further fleshing out is in the works.
( Armed and fabulous )The next two are of Jacob Trevelyan (aka Iacobus Trevelanius), my current character in an Elizabethan-themed campaign. Jacob functions as the ship's doctor/natural philosophy nerd/obligatory Elizabethan crossdresser. S/he is a passing woman (possibly transgendered by today's definitions, although Jacob's not particularly butch) whose widowed scholar father dressed and educated hir as a boy to be his research assistant in his scholarly work for various European nobles.
